Share Capital

Share capital refers to the portion of a company’s equity that is owned by shareholders. The share capital of a company can be divided into two categories: common stock and preferred stock. Common stock is the most basic form of share capital and represents ownership in a company. Preferred stock is a more senior form of share capital and typically entitles the holder to certain privileges, such as preference in the event of a liquidation.
